Our company

Why Choose Us

Anyone can sell you a Tibet tour. What matters is who actually runs it — who holds the licence, whose name takes your money, what happens if your plans change, and who stays answerable when something goes wrong. Here is exactly how we work, in plain language.

Licence & registration

A 100% Lhasa-registered company

We are Tibet Skyline International Travel Service, Inc. — a tour operator registered and licensed in Lhasa, inside the Tibet Autonomous Region itself. Not an overseas reseller, not an agent booking you through a third party: the company that runs your tour on the plateau is the company named on your invoice.

For trade partners, our licences are available on request.

Wooden blocks spelling TRUST with a hand placing a check mark

Trust with proof

Trusted by the operators who know Tibet best

We have operated group tours on the ground for some of the world’s most respected travel companies — OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel), Uniworld, Viking, RITZ Tours and China Plus among them. When operators of that standing hand over their own travellers, the trust has already been tested, year after year.

Trade references available on request.

No deposit stamp over banknotes

Your money

No deposit — ever

Holding your place costs nothing. Your seat is reserved by a free inquiry, and not a single payment falls due until we begin work on your Tibet Travel Permit. Only at that point does the US$100 per-person permit service fee become payable.

You pay for work that has already started — never for a promise.

Cancellation

Cancel any time, for any reason

No cancellation fee, no penalty, no awkward questions. Tell us in writing and that is the end of it — even a day before departure.

Cancellations are confirmed by email to info@tibettravel.com.

Refund

Refunds without a fight

Whatever can still be recovered comes back to you. We return every dollar you have paid us, less only what third parties have already charged — a non-refundable air or train ticket, for example. Nothing is held back as a fee of our own.

The few exceptions are set out plainly in our Terms & Conditions.

Price

Our best price — and an honest word about it

You always get our best price the first time we quote. If you find a lower one elsewhere, compare what is actually included: hotels, vehicle, guide, permits and meals are what decide the difference, not the headline figure. What we will not do is trim the service to win a comparison. We would rather be the operator you trust with a once-in-a-lifetime journey — you get what you pay for.

How to book with us

Booking with us is deliberately low-risk. You are never asked to pay for a promise — only for work that has already begun. The whole process is below, step by step.

  1. 1

    Send us your inquiry

Tell us your dates, how many people are travelling and roughly what you would like to see. It takes two minutes, and it costs nothing.

  2. 2

Then the conversation begins — one of two ways

    Private & tailor-made tours

We email back and forth, shaping the route, the hotels and the daily pace around exactly what you want — until the itinerary is right.

    Small group departures

We answer your questions about the fixed departure — dates, group size, what is included, altitude — so you can book with confidence.

  3. 3

Reserve your seat — with no deposit

For group departures your seat is held with no deposit at all. Book early to secure your seats: every listed departure is a guaranteed fixed departure.

  4. 4

Closer to departure — the real booking

As your departure approaches we confirm everything in writing. Only now does payment begin: US$100 per person activates your Tibet Travel Permit application, and the process starts.

  5. 5

We show you your permit — and, if you like, take half

When your Tibet Travel Permit is issued we send you a copy to check. If you prefer to spread the cost, this is the moment to pay the first half of your tour fee.

  6. 6

The balance — paid your way

The balance falls due before departure. Prefer to settle everything in one transfer? You can pay the full amount at step 5 and save the transaction fees.

  7. 7

Travel — and then tell us how it went

After your tour, share your experience on our review page or on TripAdvisor — every review reaches the same team that ran your trip.
