15–22 Day Grand Himalayan Tours

For those with two to three weeks to fully immerse themselves in the Himalayas, these extended tours offer an in-depth exploration of Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan — combining breathtaking natural wonders with extraordinary cultural experiences.

Two to three weeks, and time to go deeper

Each of these journeys spends long enough in Tibet to reach beyond Lhasa — Everest Base Camp, Namtso or the drive west — and then continues into Nepal, and in two cases into Bhutan as well. They are the routes to choose when the Himalaya is the trip rather than part of one.

Frequently asked questions

Do you run the Nepal part of these tours yourselves?

No — and we say so openly. We are a Tibet-only operator. Our Nepal itineraries are arranged by a licensed local partner in Kathmandu at their own published rates, and we add nothing on top. You are welcome to book Nepal with them directly, with or without a Tibet trip.

Do you run the Bhutan part yourselves?

No. We are a Tibet-only operator. Bhutan is arranged by a licensed Bhutanese partner at their own rates, including the daily Sustainable Development Fee, and we add nothing to their figure.

Can I fly between Kathmandu and Lhasa, or do I have to drive?

Both work. The flight takes about one and a half hours and crosses the main Himalaya; the overland road crosses at Gyirong and takes several days, but shows you Everest’s north side and the plateau on the way. Many guests fly in one direction and drive the other.

When is the best time for a trip like this?

April to June and September to October are the classic windows, with the clearest mountain views. The monsoon runs roughly June to September; winter is cold at altitude but quiet and very clear.
