Tibet Tour Plus

Tibet Tour Plus is where a Tibet journey continues into a second country or a second part of China — with Tibet always at the centre of the trip. We are a Tibet-only tour operator, and every route on this page begins in Tibet: Lhasa, Shigatse, Everest, the monasteries and the high passes. Only afterwards do we add Nepal, Bhutan or another region.

How the “Plus” part works

We run the Tibet section ourselves — our own office in Lhasa, our own guides and vehicles, since 1999. For the non-Tibet section we hand you directly to a trusted local partner at their own published rates. We add nothing on top: you pay the partner what the partner charges, and you pay us for Tibet. That is the whole point of booking direct with a destination specialist.

You are never left to sort the rest out on your own. We make the introduction, stay across the arrangements and take responsibility for the trip as a whole — the Tibet portion operated by us, the other countries by partners we have worked with for years.

Why combine at all? Because Tibet shares a border, a mountain range and a great deal of history with Nepal and Bhutan — and one journey across the Himalaya often costs less, and takes less time, than two separate trips.

Frequently asked questions

Can Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan be combined in one trip?

Yes — and it is the most efficient way to see the whole Himalayan range. Combining the three saves money and travel time, and our multi-country itineraries run from about 11 days upward.

Do you operate the Nepal and Bhutan sections yourselves?

No — and we say so openly. We are a Tibet-only operator. The Tibet section is run by us; the Nepal and Bhutan sections are arranged by our trusted local partners at their own rates, with nothing added on top by us.

What about the rest of China — Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xian?

Some of our routes connect Tibet with mainland gateways such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xian and Xining. Where we arrange the China section ourselves (for example train and flight bookings, or simple transfers) we do it directly; where we use a partner, we pass their price straight to you.
