DAY 1   Arrive in Lhasa
Your tour guide will greet you upon your arrival at Lhasa airport to transfer you to your hotel, where you will have the rest of the day to relax and acclimatize to the high altitude.
Travel tips:
Because Tibet lies at such a high altitude, it is important to remember to take everything slowly to minimize the symptoms of altitude sickness. Drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep that first night – you should feel fine by the next day. However, if you feel extreme discomfort, please notify your tour guide immediately.

Meals: None

Accommodation: Lhasa Economic / Comfortable Hotel (Twin Sharing)

DAY 2   Lhasa City Sightseeing - Potala Palace - Jokhang Temple - Barkhor Street
After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the incredible Potala Palace – the highest palace in the world. As we climb to the entrance gate, you will have a spectacular view over all of Lhasa. After exploring the numerous interesting chapels and learning about the traditional culture and history of the palace and the city, we will move on to the spiritually significant Jokhang Temple, one of the most important temples in Tibetan Buddhism. To see the “real” Lhasa, we’ll stroll through Barkhor Street with its thriving local market where you can pick up some local Tibetan, Nepalese and Indian handicrafts and souvenirs.
Tips for Visiting Potala Palace:
1. The number of visitors to the palace is strictly limited to 2,300 per day. Visitors can only visit during the time specified on the admission ticket.
2. Admission tickets to visit the Potala Palace are sold out almost every day, so it is strongly recommended to book your tickets several days in advance.
3. There are many steps at the Potala Palace, so it’s best to take it slowly to avoid possible altitude discomfort.
4. Visitors should respect the rules while visiting. Do not wear hats, wear revealing clothes or step on thresholds as these actions violate local customs.
5. Photography and the taking of videos are forbidden inside the Potala Palace.
6. A security search will take place at the entrance to the palace. Explosives, flammables, knives, lighters and even water bottles are not allowed inside the Potala Palace.

Meals: Breakfast   None

Accommodation: Lhasa Economic / Comfortable Hotel (Twin Sharing)

DAY 3   Lhasa City Sightseeing - Sera Monastery – Drepung Monastery
Today features visits to 2 of the most important monasteries in Tibetan Buddhism – the Drepung and Sera Monasteries. Drepung Monastery is located on the hillside west of Lhasa – at one time the world’s largest monastery with about 10,000 monks living there. A pleasant walk up the hill leads to the solemn ambience inside the monastery’s many halls and chapels. After Drepung, we will move on to the Sera Monastery. The main highlight of the Sera Monastery is watching the crowd of monks debating inside the shady courtyard behind the main temple. Every day except Sunday, hundreds of red-robed monks assemble in small groups and practice their debating skills – a very impressive sight to behold as the monks are very animated in their debates on the various attributes of Buddhist scriptures.

Meals: Breakfast   None

Nyenchen Khangsar glacier as seen from the Karol la Pass. Later on we’ll be able to visit the Karola Glacier before continuing along the southern Friendship Highway to Gyantse, where you will be able to see the famous Gyantse Kumbum, one of the most stunning architectural wonders in Tibet. Midui Glacier was formed from the convergence of two separate icefalls, with two primitive forests located between the two icefalls. After our visit there, we will continue on to Rawok Lake, located in southwest Basu County. Rawok Lake is the beginning point of the Yarlung Tsangpo River – the highest major river in the world. Hello Nancy,
I really enjoy the my Tibet tour. First when I started looking for a travel agency in Tibet it was hard because I did not know which one to choose. I started emailing you and asking my thousand questions and you were very nice and answer to all my questions patiently.
I would definitely recommend your company. The guy at the hotel in Lhasa was very nice with us. He helped me a lot when my bank block my debit card and l was not able the withdraw money. He went with me to find a place where I can do international phone call to my bank in Canada. Our guide Djajie was a very good guide, vary helpful, he said to us a lot of information but because English is not my first language, so I did not remember all the information he told us about Tibet.
The driver was very nice, always happy and singing . Too bad he was not speaking English so we were not able to communicate with him without the guide.I would appreciate sometime they eat with us at same table. they always eat at a separate table. Tibetans were nice with us, they looked at us because we were tourists but they were always smiling to us and saying HeIIo. They wanted to take pictures with us, especially with the Australian light brown long hair.
All hotel are well located in the city. For picture, I will send you more than you asked because I like to take pictures. I am the only one in the tour who have a picture of the group.  Thanks!

Dear Nancy,

How nice to hear from you! Thanks for your email and yes, I have been back to England since last Thursday after the wonderful trip to Tibet you helped organizing. I hope all is well with you and you have had a “Golden Week” holiday.
Overall the trip was excellent, the tour showed different part of Tibet and had the right balance of supervision and free time in Lhasa especially. Good points were your email contact which was always prompt and informative, helpful and friendly. This helped build trust and confidence in the journey. I also thought highly of the tour guide who showed us around, he was very patient and kind to us, most of all I was impressed by his deep knowledge and genuine belief in Tibetan Buddhism.
That’s all that I can think of at the moment, but I really did want to thank you for a fantastic trip to Tibet, I’m left with wanting to return and see more. It was very thought provoking and I loved it all!
Many thanks again and best wishes!  Kathy

Thank you Shirley,My brother in law has traveled with your agency about two years ago,  so you come highly recommended : )
The tour you suggested sounds perfect. Could you give us some other dates too please for a week. earlier than the 26th in June and a week later please and the cost. I have to share the information with my friends and then we will decide accordingly. Two of us will be travelling from Hong Kong.  I have a British passport, my husband has a diplomatic passport (he is from Pakistan, posted as Counsel General in Hong Kong). Two or three people will be travelling from Pakistan to Hong Kong and from there to China and Tibet.
Two more questions please:  1. can you offer a discount if we have a larger group? 2. Can you also help us with travel options from Hong Kong? Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Amy,

Yes we have arrived, landed yesterday in Cape Town and today went back to the "groove" at work.  I would like to thank you for your outstanding work and let you know how important your help and support has been to us in shaping the itinerary and terms of the trip of our lives.  It is really rare to find such a high level of customer service.  I would like to compliment you also on behalf of my boyfriend as we had an amazing time in Tibet. You have taken the time to assist us from the very beginning and went the extra mile in suggesting ideas for itinerary, providing tips on where to stay and what to do. You have also assisted us with all our crazy inquires,  worries and doubts about visa issuance and time frames on how to get it. The ability to handle that was also outstanding.  We were also very impressed with the excellent level of your English and had no problem at all during our communication, Thanks for everything you have done for us about our Tibet trip!!!
