This itinerary covers from Lhasa to Mt. Kailash to Mt. Everest, and it runs almost 3000 KM and provides loads of opportunities to enjoy the cultural and natural major relics. It includes 4 of the most famous monasteries namely Jokhang, Sera, Tashilumpo and Rongbuk monastery, which will provide you enough time to know and learn about Tibet Buddhism and its unique aspect. Followed by Yamdrok Lake and Lake Monasaravar, you will see two of the tree holy lakes in Tibet. The Everest and Kailash then assure you to know the grandness of the highest and sacred mountains of this world, and Kora 3 days in Kailash will surely be the chance to sense Tibet, empathize with the mystery and holiness of this area. 

Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa

Today's activities: Check in, Rest and Prepare, Free Activities
Accommodation: Yak Hotel, 3 Star

Welcome to the roof of the world! Our guide will pick you up at the Airport/ Train station and help you settle down at the hotel, if you arrive early, you could rest a bit, or seek out holy city – Lhasa yourself! Lots of water and plenty of sleep would help you adapt to the altitude of Tibet.

Day 2: Lhasa city tour

Today's activities: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Sera Monastery, Bachkor Street
Accommodation: Yak Hotel, 3 Star

This morning you'll wind your way up through the stunning, awe-inspiring Potala Palace. Built in 637 AD by Songtsen Gampo, it was the former winter residence for the Dalai Lamas and is truly a splendor of Eastern architecture. Next, visit the Jokhang Temple, the center of Tibetan Buddhism, also built in the 7th century on the legendary pond of "Wothang." Later after lunch, witness the famous debate sessions by the monks at Sera Monastery. And finish the day by taking a Kora around the Barkhor. Test your bartering skills with the locals in this push-and-shove economy.

Day 3: Drive to Shigatse via Gyantse

Today's activities: Yamdrok Lake, Karola Glacier
Accommodation: Shigatse Monasarovar Hotel, 3 Star

In the morning you'll start the drive to Shigatse, via Gyantse on the Southern Friendship Highway. Crossing over the summit of Kamba La (4794 m), you'll see the tranquil turquoise waters of Lake Yamdrok below; one of the three holiest lakes in Tibet. Far in the distance you'll spot the towering massif Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191 m), and the staggering Karo-la Glacier (5045 m). Afterwards, you'll drive to Shigatse, and overnight there.


  Tashilumpo Monastery

Day 4: Shigatse - Mt. Everest

Today's activities: wonder around Tibet plateau & Tashilumpo Monastery
Accommodation: tent or guesthouse

In this morning, we will first visit Tashilunpo Monastery, and then driving strictly Everest base camp and overnight there .
Tips: Today the driving time is a bit longer, estimated at least 8 hours. But generally speaking, the route itself Is very smooth and comfortable, thus no need to be occupied by Acute Mountain Sickness.

Day 5: Mt. Everest Base Camp – Saga

Today's activities: Everest Base Camp,Rogbuk Monastery
Accommodation: budget guesthouse
Meals: Breakfast
Wake this morning below the stunning north face of Mt. Everest, (8848) the tallest mountain on earth. After breakfast, drive the remaining 8 km to visit Everest Base Camp. Then, drive forward to Saga via Old Tringri, and be wrapped in the endless vistas of the Tibetan plateau.

Day 6: Saga – Lake Monasaravar

Today's activities: Camping around Lake Monasaravar
Accommodation: tent or guesthouse
Meals: Breakfast
From Saga it is 145 km to Zhongba. The road is good and the trip can be completed in 2-3 hrs. There is also a small monastery at the western end of town on a hill. From Zhongba onwards the southern road deteriorates. This section of the road has panoramic views of mountains on either side of the road. From Paryang to Lake Manasorovar, There will be several river crossings and we drive past Mayum la pass (5200 M). The scenery is stunning beautiful with panoramic views of the Himalayas

Day 7: Lake Monasaravar – Mount Kailash

Today's activities: Mount Kailash and around

About 60 kms north of Lake Manasorovar is Darchen, the main gateway and the village. The monastery at Darchen, Darchen Gon, is a part of the Drukpa sect. The two-story monastery structure in the center of the town serves as a trading post and shelter for pilgrims. Within the dukhang assembly hall are new and old thangka paintings and some statues, the main image being Sakyamuni. West of the gompa is the Mani Lhakhang that has a large, new mani prayer wheel. This is the site where the original old flagpole (a darchen is a flagpole for prayer flags) of Darchen was located. When beginning their kora pilgrimage around Kailash, many pilgrims often circumambulate the Darchen Gon monastery and the Mani Lhakhang before setting out. We organize yaks or ponies for the Kailash circuit trek at Darchen.

Day 8: Kailash Circuit Trek / Diraphuk 6 hrs

Today's activities: Mt Kailash Kora
Accommodation: tent or guesthouse
Meals: Breakfast
This Kailash circuit covers 53 kms and can be done in 3 days. We head west in clockwise direction and after a few kilometers the trail climbs up to a cairn at 4730 m from where the southern face of Mt. Kailash comes to view. 


  Karola Glacier

Day 9: Diraphuk / Zutrulphuk, 6 hrs

Today's activities: Mt Kailash Kora
Accommodation: budget guesthouse
Meals: Breakfast
Today we cross Drolma la pass (5630 M) and Gauri Kund Lake (5608 m) where Hindus worship and immerse themselves in the icy waters of the lake.

  
Day 10: Zutrulphuk trek to Darchen / Drive to Paryang

Today's activities: Mt Kailash Kora
Accommodation: budget guesthouse

The final end of the parikrama is an easy 2-3 hrs walk down to where the river emerges on to the Barga plain. We complete the 3 day circuit trek of Mt. Kailash and head back to Paryang and overnight there. 

 

Day 11: Paryang– Saga

 Today's activities: Scenery en route
Accommodation: budget guesthouse
Meals: Breakfast
Today we will heading from Paryang directly to Saga city. Upon arrival, free time at your disposal.

Day 12: Saga – Geelong

Today's activities: views on the way
Accommodation: budget guesthouse
Meals: Breakfast
In this morning, we will directly heading for the highest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest, we will also pay a visit to Rongbuk monastery (optional), overnight at guesthouse or tent.

  
Day 13: Geelong see off at the border-Lhatse

Today's activities: See off (Tour member Exit from Zhangmu city finished today)
Accommodation: budget guesthouse

In the morning we will drive you to the Geelng border and our guide will help you go through the formalities of China Customs and apply for your Nepali visa, then you need to cross the Friendship Bridge to Nepali side by yourself.
Post Tour: On Day 13 Drive back to Lhatze
NOTE:For those who expected to depart to other places from Lhasa, today the vehicle would continue drive back to Lhatse, thus we recommend you try to see the border town Zhangmu yourself a bit, it's a mixture of Tibet, Indian, and Nepal culture, various artcrafts and food could certainly attracts you.

Day 14: Lhatse – Lhasa

Accommodation: Yak Hotel, 3 Star
Meals: Breakfast
Today we will continue heading back to Lhasa city, but with a slightly different route, so, sit back, and enjoy the endless Tibet Plateau.

Day 15: Lhasa Gonggar Airport

Today's activities: See off (Tour member Exit from Lhasa city finished today)
