D01 (29 Jun) Arrive in Lhasa at 8.58pm and transfer to the hotel
Accommodation: Daxa Hostel or similar class if late booking
Arrive at the train station, be greeted and offered a white scarf (called Kada) in a Tibet traditional way which brings you good luck. Then drive to the city proper (3650 m) and transfer to your hotel. Stay at the hotel for adapting to the high attitude. It is helpful to take things easy for the first few days, and try to drink some water just and now (be noted the first day’s acclimation is extremely to ensure you a good health status for the following tour, so please make sure you have yourself lie in bed for all the rest time of the day right after check-in of hotel).

D02 (30 Jun) Lhasa Sightseeing

Visit Potala Palace for the whole morning, then in the afternoon, have a view of the Jokang Monastery, then walk on the Barkhor street surrounding Jokhang, a big free market with its prolific stalls for selling local specialties.
D03 (1 Jul) Lhasa Sightseeing
Accommodation: Daxa Hostel or similar class if late booking
Visit Drepung Monastery for the whole morning, later after lunch, visit Sera monastery. We can do the Sera Kora walk of about 1 hr and then catch the famous debate session of the monks before returning back to Lhasa.
D04 (2 Jul) Lhasa/Namtso

Namtso Lake

Drive to Namtso Lake from Lhasa city in the morning. On the way, pay a visit the HOME monastery of Garma Kargyuelpa order -- Curpu monastery. When arriving at Namtso Lake (245km to the north of Lhasa), enjoying the glory of sunset over the lake. By the lake, you can view the peak of Nyianchentangula (7162m). Stay overnight at the bank of the lake.

D05 (3 Jul) Namtso/Lhasa

Today, have a little hiking around Namtso Lake, and explore the Tashi peninsula by walking around the holy hill, the cliffs of which have eroded over the centuries. Visit Tashi Dor monastery, on the way piles of mani stones stand. Also visit the nomads in yak hair tents who have been living on the pastures between the holy Nam Tso and Nyenchentangla. Then drive back to Lhasa and have a short stop for the grassland view of Yangbacheng on the way.

Morning drive forward to Tsedang, the capital in Shannan Area, also the cradle of Tibetan culture. Please note: in this city, all the alien people must live in a hotel since it is the military restrictive area. Visit is to the magnificent Samye Monastery en route.

In the morning, make a trip in the Yarlung valley to visit the Yumbulakhang, a medieval-European castle-like structure, reputed as Tibet’s oldest building. It doesn’t take that long to explore Yumblagang, perhaps the best part of the vist is the walk up along the ridge abour the building. There’re fabulous views of the Yarlung valley. Then have a tour to Trandruk Monastery nearby. Then go to King Tomb.
D08 (6 Jul) Tsedang/Gyantse

Today have a 350 km driving to get to Gyantse, a famous historical city. on the Ganba La (4,796 m) have a fantastic view of the holy lake of Yamdrok Yumtso (4441 m).
D09 (7 Jul) Gyantse/Shigatse

In the morning, visit Pelkor Monastery as well as the splendid Kumbum Stupa (100-Thousand-Buddha Pagoda) nearby Gyantse. After that drive onward to Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet and also the hometown of Panchen Lama. On the way visit Shalu Monastery. Upon arrival, have a visit to the Tashilumpu Monastery , the main attraction of Shigatse city and its free market. Today 90 km drive on the paved road.

Morning continue driving to Shegar via Gyatsola Mountain Pass (5220m). It takes 6-7 hours to get there covering 310 km. The road is bumpy and dusty. On the way, if the time limited, make an excursion to Sakya Monastery (4.280 m). Today you can appreciate the evening scenery of Mt. Everest enough.
Everest Hotel is the best hotel in this place, but the accommodation condition in this remote area is a little bit poor.

From Saga it is 145 km to Zhongba. The road is good and the trip can be completed in 4-5 hrs. There is also a small monastery at the western end of town on a hill, Wosaling Nunnery. From Zhongba onwards the southern road deteriorates. Dargelying Monastery. There is also danger of vehicles getting stuck. But this section of the road has panoramic views of mountains on either side of the road.

From Paryang to Lake Mansorovar is a long drive of 10 hrs or more. There will be several river crossings and we drive past Mayum la pass (4600 M). Camp on the opposite side of Manosaravar at the point where it’s possible to see Kailash above the lake. Drive to Darchen, the main gateway and the village. Have a visit to the monastery at Darchen, Darchen Gon. West of the gompa is the Mani Lhakhang. When beginning their kora pilgrimage around Kailash, many pilgrims often circumambulate the Darchen Gon monastery and the Mani Lhakhang before setting out. And today, you can have a close touch with the holy lake in Tibet.
D16 (14 Jul) Kailash Circuit Trek/Diraphuk, 6 hrs

This Kailash circuit covers 53 kms and can be done in 3 days. We head west in clockwise direction and after a few kilometers the trail climbs up to a cairn at 4730 m from where the southern face of Mt. Kailash comes to view. En route visit Tarboche where annual flagpole raising ceremony takes place during Saga Dawa. And today is the first day of Saka Dawa Festival

Toady we cross Drolma la pass (5630 M) and Gauri Kund Lake (5608 m) where Hindus worship and immerse themselves in the icy waters of the lake.
D18 (16 Jul) Zutrulphuk/Darchen/Tirthapuri, 3-4hrs

The final end of the parikrama is an easy 3-4 hrs walk down to where the river emerges on to the Barga plain. We complete the 3 day circuit trek of Mt. Kailash and drive to Tirthapuri to have a rest and camp.

Early in the morning we drive to Tsaparang (10 km, 3.800 m), the oldest center of Guge Kingdom. A group of four temples surround the lower part of the fortress walls, one fifth of which lie above the remains of the city, the former Summer Palace of the kings. The coffered ceilings and carved bars of the temples are decorated in different designs. Parts of murals are well-preserved and complicatedly decorated.

Northwest from Trithapuri, in the middle of the canyon erosion landscape of the Sutlej River, lie the impressive ruins of Toling and Tsaparang - flourishing centers of the former Kingdom Guge. Tsaparang disappeared in the middle of 17 Century; the Toling monastery, nowadays goal was until the 1960's religious center. Fortunately, despite of devastations by the Culture Revolution some buildings and temple remained.
